OUR HISTORY
First built as a single-family home in 1942, it remained as such until 1965 when Richard and Virginia Corder opened The Besta-Wan Pizza House in this quaint single-story home. The restaurant operated with a simple menu of pizza, salads and beer for over 50 years. Ron Banks purchased Besta from the Corders and continued the tradition for another five years until he met Rebecca Sanchez and convinced her to take it over, after she ran the cafe at Palomar Airport for years.
In 2004 Rebecca & Julio Sanchez were passed the torch and spent long hours and days in the beginning transforming Besta into something that was a bit brighter, a bit funkier and something that continued to give the locals of North County something memorable each and every time they dined. Rebecca put her touches on Besta over the last 20 years and has been a staple both at Besta and in the community of Cardiff. In 2023 the torch was passed again to us, KC & Eric Bauer.
We have both been locals in the community for the last 20+ years, and want to continue the rich history that Besta has had. We want to honor the past history of Besta by recreating some of that feel from back then. Pizza and service is our passion and something that is at the heart of what we strive to do every day.

Today we tried this place for the first time, but it won't be the last time. It was amazing! We ordered the Bestawan pizza and it was awesome! Fresh, delicious ingredients. Great crust, cheese and quality toppings. This pizza is no joke. We are already talking about when we'll come back. It was that good! Great service too.
I have come to this place for years. Love the new wine list! Pizza is my favorite but salads are great too! It recently had a change of ownership and I was skeptical at first, but now the place is much cleaner and the food is better. Same great staff. (Pizza is better than before)
Out of town and visited this hole-in-the-wall pizza place. Did not disappoint! We had the Savannah White pizza and split an Italian beef sandwich. Could not choose a favorite honestly. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive as well. Definitely recommend!!
Here is my all time favorite. We usually make our own pizza (ground beef, mushroom, green peppers, olives and onion). I also their chicken wings.
